I think if you enable proposed there are newer kernels than 3.13-0-16. I
currently have 3.13-0-18 as an upgrade that came in yesterday? If you boot
on an older kernel are you not getting updates to see if newer versions fix
it?

there has / is work being done on the greeter... the proposed one had to be
killed via ALT + CTRL + T using a kill -9. Julien has released some new
stuff today which sorts out the firefox bug. Let the autobuild of the ISO's
occur on 19th March
