I have to do the same thing when installing to get usable graphics, but on
my Mac Mini, after the installation, I don't have to retype the
"video=radeonfb..." on every reboot.

I'm not able to get past "Resizing partitions not an option" (#1227057)
in the powerpc Desktop image. I am not able to get it to find any
existing EXT4 partitions. One trial I did where I first installed an
EXT3 partition did get detected. But I don't know yet if it is an issue
with finding EXT
