My best guess is to release the hold on the packages if you followed my
instructions, then update/upgrade and then install that PPA.
Then after installing the PPA just update

@all, I've had a quick chat with a trusted Xubuntu person, they'll not be
having a ppc release for 12.10; all the more important lubuntu gets a nice
release out as we seem to rapidly becoming the only refuge for that
architecture.
