Any such transition will take time, those that are using XP have either
painted themselves in a corner technologically or are very conservative

Yes, this is great, but the right timing is to wait until the Lubuntu
LTS, unless there should be a special agreement including support with
Munich. Then it would be a giant prototype or testcase and learning
before the real launching at the release of the LTS.

Hi again,
I have not read that on the news/post/link. I did not understand your first

helpful so at least, everyone know what we are up to :)
Enough to remain silent about Start Ubuntu Project as a project that must

Hello Ben,
Let me put it this way.
For how many years now, a Windows XP Users has been using XP?
Do they really update it?
Do you know how many users of XP are using a Pirate Version on the whole
world? count me as former one ;)

I see their adoption as a great step forward in Lubuntu. The only issue
with them adopting the current version could be bad publicity of their
launch doesn't go well, especially if support is dropped after 9 months.
The advantage to waiting for a LTS, would be stability, and less of a risk

Yes,
I have a Q by all means promote lubuntu as an XP replacement... but the
release of such a replacement will be the 14.04 LTS. As desktop releases
only have 9 months support, are you seriously going to argue that 13.10 is
a replacement and in 9 months time all support will be dropped? If th
Phill,
With all due respect to your personal opinion, I do disagree with you :)

I have created this project months ago. I was NOT planning to hold anything
back. As a respect to the decision to wait, that was because this
