Hello,
I was told that the founder of the Cypriot LoCo team had some problems
creating the mailing list, therefore I'm sending a copy to all of the
parties that are probably involved.
The founder ( SoteriouLoucas at Freenode ) has contacted Jono Bacon
several times (email and IRC) as he claims, b
You might've had more success with the meeting if you had a mailing
list to make such announcements for people like me that are currently
abroad and only have time to read their email. I could've scheduled a
visit to see you instead of going abroad, but anyway, I'll be looking
forward to see you at
This isn't the mailing list to ask this kind of questions, but here
are some codec packages:
lame vorbis-tools flac ffmpeg liblame0 gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-gl gstreamer0.10-plugins-base
gstreamer0.10-plugins
What's the purpose of "replying" and saying nothing to a digest message?
Next time you reply, can you please extract the exact message so we
all knows what you're pointing at?

Yeah, can we get an svg of that? It's a pretty cool design :)

You're in the wrong list, this is for ubuntu's local community
contacts (for each country)
If you want to know about ubuntu, you might as well download it from
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu and try it as a live cd :)
Mind you, there will be a new release by the end of April 2008, so you

Has anyone received a chocolatecoveredspam.com email subscription in
their loco lists? Is that a spam crawler or..?

I didn't see any messages from them, probably they're crawling for
email addresses. I suggest that you block chocolatecoveredspam.com
temporarily until this is resolved and/or contact your list admins to
take care of it.

P.S.
I'd like to suggest to create a tool for the administrators/heads, one
that keeps track of the activity of each member on launchpad.net as
well as other ubuntu-related websites, such as wiki pages and outputs
it in a nice daily activity log, with pie charts etc :)
(There isn't one, is there?)

It's a bit unfair for multilingual LoCo teams to be separated by
language, in that case the Cypriot LoCo team for example should exist
in English, Greek and Turkish... same as Switzerland where they
probably speak German, Italian, French and Romansh, what then?

I think it means that the loco team provides local (community?)
support - helping out users with their problems in the official
language of the country's loco team.

Have you looked at http://www.osalt.com/ ? They have a thorough list
and provide several open-source alternatives for most windows-based
applications

A transliteration launchpad team with a good web interface (a
translation/code projects hybrid?) would come really handy right about
now :)

I believe that the name is the least of our concerns right now, just
about how many people are interested to see an ubuntu open week in
their native language, in numbers and not "many people"? No offense,
it's a wonderful idea, but it would be pointless to do a massive
translation and collaboration

If anything gets blocked in customs, people will most probably be
notified about it

Um.. where can an unofficial team get CDs? From shipit? Should I poke
someone to let them know what's the reason for a big CD package, so it
doesn't get rejected?
What's a reasonable amount of CDs for an unofficial team?
We expect about 50-60 guests at the presentation/party/installfest.

OK thanks! Are the CDs there Hardy or Intrepid?
Can I pre-order specifically Intrepid Ibex CDs through shipit at the time being?
