I recently installed linux 4.14 on a Dell Latitude 5285 detachable laptop.
The problem I have is that the webcams (both the rear one and the front
one) are not recognized.
There is no /dev/video* file.
I am not sure what is the model of the webcam.

If you look at udev events, the /dev/video* devices are added and then they are
removed.

Both devices are supposed to support Mac Address "pass through", that is, the
internal laptop mac address is used instead of the mac address of the docking station.
