d location, newer pages provide
more recent versions here. What I did not check is wether the firmware is
working or not - I plainly rely on correct filenames and proper checking
routine insinde.

Hi there,
in the meantime I've switched over to Arch Linux - you probably appreciate the
choice. I did this because of the lean system and a more recent kernel (now
2.6.28 series). After compiling the latest v4l-dvb version, an
$ lsmod | grep af
results to the following:
af9013
as you're willing to help me with other distros and in the process.
Any tips how to begin please?

I'm not fully sure, if I did it at all, it was from an old, unsuccessful
attempt.
Tryed an "updatedb" as root and the only places where I could find it
