I am a bit reluctant for adding general glue like that.
Basically the issue is registering I2C driver and after that reference
counting it as there is dvb frontend ops which are called.
Did you make study how the others have resolved that issue? Could you
list already used methods?

The CP_NON_STD_VIDEO bit indicates an input not aligned with DV timings.
If there is no input, and chip is in free run mode, consider we are locked.
