fact, I thought it *was* that way...oh well, better late than never.

Hi Guennadi,
Below is my proposed patch to convert sh_vou to unlocked_ioctl. It uses the
V4L2 core locking method.
I didn't see any synchronization mechanisms other than the implicit BKL in
this driver, so using the core locking method seemed the right thing to do
here.

Hi Richard,
Can you check if this patch is OK? It's against the v2.6.38 media_tree branch.
It converts .ioctl to unlocked_ioctl by using the new v4l2 core locking. Before
it relied on the BKL to do the locking, but that is being phased out.

Hans

Hi Jon,
I looked through the cafe_ccic.c source code and as far as I can tell the
s_mutex lock is used in all the right places.
Unless you have any objections I'd like to replace .ioctl by .unlocked_ioctl
in this driver.

Convert the typhoon driver from ioctl to unlocked_ioctl.
When doing this I noticed a bug where curfreq was not initialized correctly

The initialization is now also done before the device node is created.

The patch converts a bunch of V4L2 radio drivers to unlocked_ioctl.
These are all simple conversions: most already had a lock and so the ioctl
fop could simply be replaced by unlocked_ioctl.
radio-miropcm20.c was converted to use the new V4L2 core lock.
While doing this work I noticed that many
