Andy,
It turned out to be a bad card. The memory chip was the standard chip
you mentioned below. I went and got another one and it worked right
out of the box. Thank you for the help though.

Well, I typically disable firedtv because of the Ubuntu bug.

Hi to all,
I've a usb hybrid tuner which does not work with the main v4l driver.
I've found a way to use it modifying some lines in the em28xx-dvb.c and
em28xx-cards.c files (thanks to Dainius Ridzevicius).
Can someone explain me how to create a diff between the main v4l
driver and the patched v
Hello,
my DVB-T device (a Twinhan / DIB3000 compatible device) was working fine till
kernel 2.6.28.
After upgrading to the new kernel this device is not working properly anymore.
The device has been recognized by the kernel. The dmesg excerpt please

Just a quick afterthought - bear in mind the schema I proposed is
something I only spent about two minutes on. It would almost
certainly need some more tweaking/cleanup etc. It meant to
communicate a concept, so don't get too tied up in the details of the
exact implementation.

Hi there,
Like most wikis of the linuxtv wiki is plagued with duplicate
and out-of-sync information. It is most apparent for devices,
their features, their hardware, and most of all their status
in regard to linux support.
If you need an example of the mess take a look at

This is a simple but completely untested patch for
linux/drivers/media/dvb/siano/smscoreapi.c
This patch addresses the apparent possible invocation of schedule while
holding a spin lock. In the smscore_getbuffer function, the spin lock is
simply dropped around the schedule call and in the acco

Report the fail reason to the user when writing a register even if
the verbose mode is switched off.
Remove duplicated code ioctl() call which may cause different ioctl()
function call in case of verbose and non verbose if not handled carefully.
