My brothers mythTV setup currently consists of one MBE with 2x DVB-T
tuners in.
Both tuners are from identical Medion PCs and report the following
from dmesg when booted...

Huh, but Hauppaguge site says hvr-2200 only does mpeg2 encode?
My rationale was more flexibility by using software encode and free cpu
cycles, I think it would be appealing to quite a few ;-)
That's correct, the Windows driver does mpeg2 encode only. All of the other

I'm trying to add support for the LifeView LR506. I started with the patch
by Daniel Weigl [1] and ported it to dvb-usb-cxusb as mkrufky suggested
[2]. The firmware [3] is uploaded correctly and the device reconnects as
expected. My current problem is, that the frontend is not connected.
What is the exact benefit we're after here by making things common
between all these cores? Code reuse is not a benefit, if it leads to
more expensive maintenance.
