Hi everybody,
with 2.6.22-rc2-mm1 I do get sound out of my machine using snd-intel8x0 module,
BUT:
At least parts of that Alsa sound architecture do seem to be broken:
dmesg looks like this:
31 MSFT 31313031)
ACPI: APIC 1FFEC058, 005A (r1 ASUS P4PE 42302E31 MSFT 31313031)
ACPI: PM-Timer
Hi everybody,
The patch against b44.c contained in 2.6.22-rc2-mm1 has two consequences:
1. a tight binding to module ssb whose function or necessity I neither see
through nor do comprehend
2. a breakdown (disfunctionality) of my onboard NIC.
lspci -v looks like this:

Hello everybody,
kernel 2.6.21.1 makes my machine Oops about 20 seconds after KDE 3,5 is brought
up showing its graphical login (kdm):
lspci -v, based on a "sane" kernel 2.6.22-rc2 or 2.6.20.11 (with both of them
the Oops does not happen at all) looks like this:

Hi,
I am running Debian Etch 4.0 stable in connection with udev.
In kernel 2.6.22-rc2 the number of available loop mounts is reduced from 8
(conventional standard of preceding 2.6 kernels) to 1.

Hi,
The patch against loop.c is neither a fix, nor does it create
loop devices on demand:
Facts are instead, at least on my machine:
The number of available loop devices is reduced from 8 (conventional
standard of preceding 2.6 kernels) to 1.
The consequence is: If you have to mount more than o

Hi folks,
trying to compile kernel 2.6.21-rc1-git2 is impossible. The broken module where
the compiler gives up is /arch/i386/kernel/io_apic.c.
Regards
Uwe
P. S.: Wouldn't it be a good idea to test at least error-free compilation
before stuff like this is being published?

Hi,
one problem in this mail is already being discussed - excellent!
The rest is cced now to linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org just to take care for that
it is not forgotten and to help to avoid that rubbish is not being pushed into

Hi everybody,
"The bug was introduced somewhere at the transition of 2.6.20 towards
2.6.20-git14."
I fortunately had some git9 patch at home and found out that it is sane.
In so far the floppy mount bug was introduced somewhen between 2.6.20-git10 and
2.6.20-git14.

Hi folks,
Second attempt now:
I already reported to Linus Torvalds and Andrew Morton that it is impossible to
mount a conventional floppy drive without hanging up the whole system.
Andrew's reaction was quite ambiguous: "We did not break it"
Once again and for the last time: I do not state that f
