Just wanted people to know that the same problem I reported about 2.4.4 a
while back is still present in 2.4.6-pre6 (hard crash when doing "cat
whatever > /dev/dsp1" where /dev/dsp1 is an external USB audio device, where
"hard crash" means a freeze followed by "wait on irq" message as report

2.4.3 is the latest kernel that works for me. The symptoms when booting a
later kernel is a clean boot as far as kdm (KDE's xdm replacement). When
logging in there, the system freezes completely about halfway through login.
I can find no messages in the logs, and once /var/log/messages had a
ecking transaction log (device 16:41) ...
reiserfs: replayed 5 transactions in 4 seconds

Hi again,
It seems the problem occurs every time i start fetchmail... Attached are
ksymoops output and .config (if i remember this time). If there is anything
