usb hotplug problems with 2.6.10

2005-02-03 Thread Jack Howarth
Alan, I had mentioned a couple weeks back that with kernel 2.6.10, the ability to hotplug usb keys in Fedora Core 2 and 3 has been broken. There is actually a bugzilla report on this with some useful information on manifestation of the problem https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/show_bug.cgi?

Sami, I don't believe that additional change to initscripts could be the cause because Fedora Core 2 doesn't support udev. Only Fedora Core 3 implements that feature and there are reports of the same problem occuring under it with 6.5.10. http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-usb-users&m=11056

[linux-usb-devel] Linux 2.4.20pre3 breaks alsa 0.9.0.rc3

2002-08-20 Thread Jack Howarth
I haven't seen this mentioned yet but the new pre3 changes remove the typedef of urb_t and purb_t from include/linux/usb.h. This causes alas-drivers 0.9.0rc3 to fail to compile. I wanted to find out if this removal of urb_t and purb_t was final or if it would be regressed back in pre4? Thanks
