You just need to make sure you are using "ordinary" configuration files
if you use pcmcia-cs, since 2.4 uses different names for some of pcmcia
drivers. Stock pcmcia-cs package will do nicely.

Use modules and define aliases for etho and eth1 in /etc/conf.modules.
If you need to have ethernet for rootfs, use ramdisks.

requires your patch to the bonding driver, does it not?
