It's good that people are not thinking that ALSA is already perfect, it leaves
us (me) a hope it will be improved.

I am not about ice1724 or .asounrc here. I am trying to talk about
user-friendliness of ALSA. It's very unfriendly.

configure .asoundrc? I want to be able to hear sound from flashplayer on my

Hi folks.
Today I saw well-known "innd bug"(truncate(tm)), and my brother said
he had seen it with -test12-pre7. I don't know about -test12-pre3,
neither I nor my brother hadn't noticed it since -test10. But we could

had been working for 27 min for me and then the very similar stall
happened as it was with your -vmpatch'es. After pressing reset button, fsck
was frozen during booting (his progress bar stoped)

Hi Linus,
please, check carefully Rik's VM patch, it definitly contains a
deadlock, which can be seen on low-memory computers. Try mem=8m. I
wasn't able to use any Rik patch since against -test8 (-t8-vmpatch{2,4},
-test9-pre{1,2}). It boots fine(mem=16m), but then stalls begin for some
time and f
