As KDE 3.2 is now very stable. It seems only reasonable to include that
in "testing" section of debian. Unfortunately debian's developers
apparantly don't have time to merge 3.2 into Sarge.
I'm looking for a source that supplies KDE 3.2 for debian Sarge,
googling didn't work and backports.org o
No Sparc version is planned, but Alpha version is being prepared..
Thats from my knowledge only. I could be wrong, but if I recall
correctly, Redhat has stopped creating Sparc versions due to a low
demand...

Hi there. Hetz, if you haven't solved your problems yet (you probably did...) - try
using the command hdparm for setting DMA and 32-bit
modes on (the defaults are off):
hdparm -c1 -d1 /dev/hdX
(X can be asterisk (*) to enable it in all ide devices)

Speaking about KDE app's, there's a site which is sort of an index for
all KDE packages. It is an official KDE site (but somehow I didn't see
there this package, Ksendmail, nor it's "parent" app - Ksmt)

O.K. I've been using Linux flawlessly for a year or so on a few machines
and never seen Linux behaves as "badly" as this:
When booting to Linux (RH6 with 2.2.10 kernel), at the very beginning
(right when "init" goes into action) the booting halted while I got a

LILO (I know it sounds strange, because it's basically the same LILO) was
easy to configure and did NO problems to
I tried to make KPPP work without entering the root password when you're
a regular user in RedHat.
What I got as a return is nothing with a punishment for trying to mess:
Now, after I enter the password nothing happens, KPPP just won't run!!!
I started a X-console and typed "su&
nd install it ok.
However, when i'm compailing new kernel (2.2.16) with the ami megaraid
support the mkinitrd tells me that it can not find the module for it.
silly to say that when i reboot the system the kernel get panic due to
the fact that it can't find the root filesystem.
