I wonder if anyone here intalled any distribution on Tyan Tiger 100 with
dual PIII and Promise ultra66 card?
Promise has a Beta driver for Red Hat 6.0, but I am not happy to beta
test on my production machine.

that XFS is also extent based and ext2fs is block based. XFS also
allows 64 bit file sizes and filesystem sizes, I'm not sure about ext2fs.

D.) I specifically remember one kernel revision (2.0.5 vs. 2.0.4, IIRC)
that didn't even compile.
The speed of release of new kernels in Linux is both a bane and a boon.
Sometimes they fix stuff quickly. Sometimes they fuck it up at the same
speed.
