If your kernel can load a shell and mount the /boot partition, then

If you want to roll PHP 4.2.2 on RHEL 5 (or CentOS), you have 2 options:
1. Either grab the SRPMS from RHEL 4 and recompile them on RHEL 5
based machines (be prepared to modify the SPEC file a bit)
2. Grab the latest 4.2.x PHP source code, recompile, play with the
"configure" parameters.
Shana Tova,
If I'm not mistaken, you have 2 choices:
1. Format the hard drive to EXT2.
2. Upgrade to the latest 2.6.x kernel (maybe 2.4.x kernel has the
same support for ext3, donno), and build e2fsprogs package
(http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net/). After that, format the disk to
ext3.

As I wrote in my blog about Netbook graphics chipsets
(http://benhamo.org/wp/?p=1423), soon there will be some netbooks
using the ION chipsets with nVidia 9400M which fully supports all it's
features under any Linux distribution.

It has been supported with the "intel" driver since Xorg 6.8.1 and

Hi Lev,
Unless this is a last resort, I really recommend *NOT* to use the VESA
driver. Vesa used the least of your grpahics chip capabilities, NO
graphics acceleration, no nothing,
Any native driver for your graphics chip would do a better job of
allocating memory (and not giving you only 64MB RA

I think it's related to a kernel module which is not being loaded.
Please contact the forum in the link I gave you for further
assistance.

Amazon S3?
You can create tarballs (either a new snapshot everyday or just diffs)
and upload them to Amazon S3. There are many FUSE implementations of
their protocol so you can use your own tools for copying/uploading
etc..

You can always get your personal key that Amazon issues to you on
their page (after login of course).

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a *cheap* 8 port gigabit switch to my house to
connect all my computers.
Can someone recommend a good switch (not hub) and a price or URL/phone
where to buy?
Thanks,

Hi Ido,
I tried the same thing here. I tried it on 2 machines (CentOS 5.3 both
of them).
In both cases, the first time it runs the script, it takes few seconds
to "initialize" things, that takes 2-3 seconds, but after the 1st
time, everything runs real fast..
Here's the result from my production
the msttcorefonts package does just that: it download some fonts,
place them in your distro and let you use them.
So if you use ubuntu/debian/xandros, just do: apt-get install msttcorefonts

Oh, those fonts are unicode, and I can assure you that they do have
Hebrew fonts. I use Arial from this download all the times on browser
and many other applications (pidgin etc..)..
You can also copy the TTF files from your Vista or XP install and use
ttmkfdir so your X can recognize those fonts.
Sure,
After you install msttcorefonts package, you can do a simple thing
(I'm using KDE on Fedora 11, I don't know how to do this with GNOME):
1. Launch kfontview
2. select "Open"
3. go to /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts/
4. select arial.ttf for example
5. select to change the text and type someth
The FLV won't help him much since it's an SWF based player which plays
WMV streams, look for strings like "mms", "castup" etc...

Weird..
I'm using Firefox 3.0.10, CentOS 5.3 and I'm surfing in my account in
Bank Hapoalim for more then 10 minutes. No problem at all..
Could it be a firewall issue that ends prematurely the SSL session?

You can always use wine and install MS Word viewer, I think it
supports hebrew and opens RTF files without any problem.
If you have CrossOver, it's just a click to select it, then it will
auto download and install it for you.
