Does any one have any experience with confrencing (we need video and
sound) over the net using linux of course, i've been woundering the net,
but don't have that much time to decide on hardware... so if any one has
done this before, i will appreciate if you could share this info with me.

Hi, don't know about the freeze thing, but you can switch to another
console by pressing" control+alt+fX" where fX is one of the function keys
f1,f2, ..f6 (f7 is where the X runs) then you can log in again and kill
what ever applic. you whant.

Hi, once i installed linux RH5.1 on a system with a 9.2 scsi disk, every
thing was allright (and the machine is still working great) except that
'df' shows arround 8.5GB of disk space, though i used all of the disk for
linux (it had no prior installation on it) so what's wrong!
now i am getting
Hi, use ssh (to replace rsh, rscp, etcc..) and tcp wrappers, also
edit /etc/inetd.conf and disallow tftp and other unneeded services, such
as rsh, etc.. also you may use pam, and shadowed passwds, go to the 'cert'

I dont think i am eligible to give a 100% proof answer, but look at the
dates in 'ls --full-time -alF' you see dates like 1999, so as far as the
origin of Y2K problem (year 99 for example) you're safe. Well, I guess
you could at least say that 'ls' is Y2K, but not sure about other
applications!
