Here is my experimental patch to use Lout with hebrew, if anyone wants to
try it out. No guarantees, but I hope it will be useful.

Actually, all the the latest gcc-2.96 from Redhat produce around 10% faster
code (I haven't measured it explicitly)
Anyway, Redhat 7.1 beta 2 still got kgcc and updated gcc..

I have a USR ISA PNP 56K internal
modemĀ (sportster) and my computer is P-III 500 MHZ. redhat linux 7 does not
recognize that there is a modem at all ( /dev/modem doesn't exist ). mybe it's

Hello,
It's a plug&play modem, hence you must appropriately configure it.
You can explicitly state the resources which the modem will use by configuring
several jumpers located on the modem board. If you don't wish to physically

Hi,
I am shopping for a new computer. Needless to say, it will run Linux.

I am getting offers on hardware, and since I am not a hardware guru I

Hi Linuxers:
I want to upgrade from RH6.2 to RH7.
Is somebody ready to mail me (by snail mail) a copy of
RedHat 7 CDs in exchange of a copy of Mandrake 7 CDs
that I will mail him?
Just one RH7 set in needed.
TIA for your cooperation.

Hi,
No, of course not RH (I never used RH). It's my good old SuSE 6.0

to 2.1.3 and tried again. make is version 3.79 (the latest).
Now make dep fails after the ext2 seemingly when making dep on fat:
make -C ext2 fastdep
