actually it has nothing to do with the kernel only the fact that the nfs
service file isn't loaded with the right parameters for 2.4.x
get the new nfslock rpm from rawhide there it adjusted for 2.4

Hopefully you'll get a better response. In the mean while, I hope the
following will do:
1. I would look at the kernel sources, the kernel docs for nfs and on the web.
2. If I have to guess then I would say that nfslock is a locking mechanism for
NFS. As far as I know, one of the problems
