Hi Alex, Well, regarding notebooks... IBM line - fully works with Linux - from top to bottom - all peripherals. You even get the LinDVD player if you buy the higher end from notebook's line. Dell - should work out of the box also.. Toshiba - works ok (although there are some problems with the
