correction - both GNOME and KDE, WHEN I set them to Hebrew keys, let me
type hebrew with the "compose" pressed (right alt), but no full-time
toggle with sh

Debian unstable with X 4.3 from experimental
IBM R40e laptop (KB acts as USB as far as I can see, no winkeys)
any ideas may help...
