I wouldn't recommend you doing that, since the Fedora packages don't
have a policy of maintaining package dependencies for such cross-distro
scenario. If an

I recommend to use vicq.
I use it in my pop2sms script.
works great.
Basically it's a terminal icq program that can also perform
command line tasks like sending sms.

I don't think fedora would agree to correct their FC4 repository for me :-(

Hello Nadav,Seemingly ICQ decided to stop the SMS sending from their web interface, and now allow only in-protocol SMS sending. Page
http://www.icq.com/sms/login.php returns an error, and alternative web page is nowhere to be found.-- Arieh
AFAIK no, by yum logic it would mean that the repository is incorrect
and will not accept the update.
Did you try yum localinstall? (download the rpm first and then try)

Hi list. I'm trying to work with CentOS 4.3 (RHEL 4.3 based distro) but
some of the stuff it uses is too old for my needs, so I thought I'd
upgrade some of the stuff to Fedora Core 4 (which IIRC is the closest
Fedora Core release that is newer then RHEL 4.3 - and it includes what I
need).
Problem
note that:
1. various projectors support a limited resolution (e.g. up to 800x600).
2. various projectors support a limited refresh rate (e.g. up to 75Hz).
if you try to feed them with a higher resolution/refresh rate, they go
blank.
what you might want to do, is prepare an alternative X config
I am always struggling with this, maybe someone can help.
Nearly always when I connect my notebook to projector
I have to reboot the notebook so it will recognize the projector.
Then when it boots it is always in 640x480 resolution and I don't even have
higher resolution in Screen Resolution Pre
