Gimp help: how to write in a curve?

I have never used Gimp (or any other drawing program) and now I have an image an I'd like to write on it some text in a curver. A round image, and I'd like to write around it in circle. How can I do that? Better yet, is there someone who would do it for me for free or for fee? Gabor ==
