Regarding interfaces that are up, consider looking at the
source of ifconfig (yes I know it's a lame suggestion but
it works :).
With interfaces that are down it's a bit more problematic.
I'm guessing looking for configuration scripts or aliases for
the relevant modules might do the trick (??).

Once the realplayer8 worked well for me, but now when I've reinstalled my redhat 8, id
dosn't work anymore.
I have the bin file downloaded from the realplayer site. After I installed it in
/usr/local/Realplayer8, I encounter strange problems when trying to exectute
artsdsp ./realplay

Hi,
I am looking for a way to do these two:
1. Finding out how many eths the system have (eth0, eth1 ... ethn)
2. Knowing the string of each eth as shown in lspci
I'm trying to write an app that will output something like:
# ./geteths
You have 2 ethernet cards,
eth0: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd
Hi Clan,
I am sorry if this is kindof an RTFM question, but I need a quick fix:
I had a Kernel Panic due to bad hardware and had to hit the reset button...
After FS check, I ran 'rpm -Va' to check what had changed. I noticed a lot of
'missing' files.
The system seems to run OK, but a bit slow
Linux Administration, a beginner's guide.
Very good IMO. Mine deals with RH6.1 but it's a good starting point
and I'm sure there is a newer version or something..
