Shlomi,
Your ADSL has an ip # in 10 net , and is not accesible from outside. You
have to protect your host ip # only.
If you are paranoid and fear that someone will control your ADSL modem
from outside (pure ATM) then you can limit the connections alowed for
10.0.0.138 .

If the hint is directed to the sys admins then they have a substantial problem:
disk space. There was an effort to enlarge the available space but it failed.
Suggestions on how to make it succeed are welcome.
Is there any active mirrors of Mandrake over
Israel?
Mandrake 8 *still* doesn't

Ooops, you're right...
You can try reading tcpd(8) (look for the PARANOID wildcard), but you may
Yes, i did it through inetd, so i stripped down tcpd from RH62
/etc/inetd.conf and get some improvements in connection time, but this is
still a lot of time.
"dns refuse_no_reverse" in /etc/ftpaccess just refuses the session with no
reverse DNS, this is not what i want.
Next step, i will try
Hi!
I have an Alcatel ADSL modem at home and I use it to connect my Mandrake
7.2 Linux to the Internet. I followed the HOWTO and everything is working
fine.
Now, I want to set up a firewall that will protect my computer in case
somebody penetrates the modem. I have already set up an IP-Chains f

I recently searched all available documentation for wu-ftpd and did't find
any distinct way to disable reverse DNS lookup for incoming connections. I
would like to disable it at all ( we have an intranet ftp with all the client
without DNS records ).
"RTFM" would be kindly appriciated.

That is what I did,
but when I'm reconnecting for some reasons it choose to make ppp1.
only rebooting make it choose ppp0 again.
It's seems to keep some kind of log or history regarding the previous

We're currently suffering from disk space shortage. Mirroring Mandrake
really should be a high priority for us (Mandrake 7.2's ISO was the top
downloaded file for months!). Hope w
