reproduce a problem where I constantly hear strange noises out of my
hard-disk and I get some error messages (from the kernel or something like
that) on the virtual consoles.

(And I also wonder why this feature is needed). I didn't know it's called
tux2 - are you sure about it ?
Anyway.. There's also a beta journaling filesystem called 'tux2', I
searched google for it to make sure my me

tux2 is NOT a journalling filesystem - it's just another web server which
binds into the kernel.

Personally I use about 10gb of reiserfs, and I'm very happy with it :)
