I don't usually **reply** to my own posting, but Tzafrir suggested that I add
more details, so although I have posted this before, I'm attaching the following
files and maybe someone can help me.
1 - 4 pmfirewall configuration files
2 - the output of ifconfig
3 - the output of ipchains -L -n
I have a strange problem sending to the list. I sent a message about my fir

Hello,
I tried reducing the MTU on the client box, and it doesn't help. I can't
see why it should -- the problem occurs when the *remote* host is
sending a large packet *into* the LAN.
Looking at captured network traffic both between the masquerading box
and the ADL modem and between the masquer
I'm not familiar with pmfirewall, but I really recommend 'mason':

An excellent solution for building firewall rules with ipchains/ipfwadm.

Hi,
I remember that someone has posted a request for a source, that might
help in comparing distributions.
Here is something I have found...
http://opensourceit.earthweb.com/dlink.resource-jhtml.72.1077.|repository||softwaredev|content|article|2001|01|24|SDBenedictRoundup|SDBenedictRoundup~xml.
reduce the maxmtu of the win boxes to 1452 and they will work fine.

Hi,
I asked this about three months ago and some people tried to help, but I didn't
solve my problem, so I'm asking again, since maybe there is now more experience
with ADSL.
I'm trying to use pmfirewall on my Linux box - connected with ADSL. There are
two functions I need.
1 - IP Masquerading
Howdy list,
Thanks to mulix, my Linux ADSL connection is up and running. Next, I set
up IP masquerading, and encountered the following odd problem.
When conneting from some host on the LAN, every time the remote host
tries to send "a lot of data at once" (a large TCP packet, perhaps?),
the masqu
Hi Noam,
The URL for downloading the latest QT is: ftp://ftp.trolltech.com/qt/source/
And fix your email address - seems to me like zahav.net.il doesn't work
anymore (it gives me here - service unavailable).. Oh well, when a full ISP
uses NT only (they fired their unix part) what do u expect?

My points exactly :-) I used to fill this post, but now that I'm not readily
available for technical 'on-site', our sysad (she's recently of the NT cadre
:-) would like to have commercial support, in case of serious mishaps. she
know that between the both of us, we can handle most rutine stuff, bu

Hello,
I have a problem establishing an ADSL connection.
I carried out the instruction in mulix's HOWTO. pptp seems to do fine,
but ppp chokes with "ioctl(PPPIOCGFLAGS): Invalid argument".
Log transcript attached below.
Setup:
- Orckit ATUR3
- kernel 2.4.1 with PPP statically linked

Hi Noam,
Before you go to download QT 2.2.3, you should download QT 2.2.4 as it got
some bug fixes there..
Now, regarding the versions of the QT:
The QT X11 Free edition is just the QT that we all know - including the
docs, and QT Designer - so you can use KDE and other QT based applicaions
wit
you have to set the default gateway to the ppp0.
see your /etc/ppp/options (and add defaultgateway there?).

I am still not able to telnet, or even ping out
from the system. although now after applying the patch (provided by
mulix) I "seem" to be connected
I think I might be incurring problems with my
linuxconf settings, below is what I get when I run "ifconfig -a" and netstat -r
-n respectively:
hi everyone
i cleaned up the patch to pptp and put up a new pptp-mulix-0.06.tar.gz
at http://www.pointer.co.il/~mulix/
ADSL users, and especially alcatel and orckit ATUR3 users, please test
and verify that it works for you.
as soon as i get positive test results i will forward the patch onwards
I was about to download QT2.3 and I found out there are two versions
that looks like should be downloaded.
One is:
Qt/X11 Free Edition
and the other is:
Qt/Embedded Free Edition
Can some1 please explain me what is the difference between those?

I am taking care of item #2, and I already sent the Bezeq guy a note about
it.
You will still have to cancell your specific order.
