Did you compiled the kernel with SMP ?
try setting apm=power-off or apm=smp-power-off

Before I recompiled the kernel to 2.2.17, when I did "shutdown -h now" it
was shutting down and also pwering off.
Now I can't make it power off by itself!
Any ideas?

It's still making the message "power off" without shutting down automaticlly
like it does in kernel 2.2.14. why is that?
Is it related to the patch that I should patch to the kernel?

I never heard about this chipset and I cannot find anything on it on S3 web
site...
