It means that for some reason your computer is trying to use NIS (aka yp)
Its a sort of database that can be used for diffrent porposes like storing
user files.
you seems to chose the use of yp server without saying which domain you
want to use.

Hi,
I've tried installing Debian 2.2 on an old 486 here (16MB RAM) with Intel
EtherExpress 16 (not pro, I think) ISA NIC. I've choosed eexpress as the
net module, and it was installed successfully. At the "install base system"
stage I've chosen "network", and directed the machine to
us.debian
Can you post your /etc/fstab?

Can someone tell me what the following message means? I get it each time I try
to PING, link to a web page from inside my e-mail program, etc. The PING, link,
etc all work so the message is really just an annoyance, but I would like to
know what's going on here.
Here's the message:

Hi.
We're planning to buy an SSL certificate from verisign, and we would like to
use the 40 bit certificate with Apache (OpenSSL). Does anybody know if

Has anyone noticed the date of Ely Levy's e-mail? No wonder I have been
reading the replies to his questions before reading his original mail. This
seems to be a common phenomenon on linux-il, but usually with a difference only
in hous and minutes.

Hello Ely!
I don't understand.. did you succeed running 2D graphics ? (no dri or
glx).
About glx, afaik, it's just for 3.x, and DRI comes instead of it, in X
4.x. I've never tried DRI, but in GLX I had to change a config file. maybe
you also have to do so..
