I have created a bootable CD-ROM using GRUB, but I do not use
fai-cd. I only use the CD-ROM to boot the kernel and load the
initrd, after those steps the system boots using NFS. I have also
successfully used a similar process to boot from a USB "thumb"

can anyone give an example, how to do a fai-installation
with static ip-addresses for the clients? There are no dhcp-servers in
our subnets, where the servers are.

at the end of an installation - when the logs are copied to the
install-server -
fai@ asks for a password. Why?

after a new fai version on the the fai-server is installed, what is the
correct way,
the install-clients will use this new version. I got troubles after
fai-make-nfsroot f.
The client installation failed completely.

fai-make-nfsroot -v run without errors. But client-installation
fails. (after booting, installation stops with a blank screen)
There must be (in my case) a problem in making nfsroot. Because, when I do a
"find":
>find /srv/fai/nfsroot -name *fai* -print
/srv/fai/nfsroot/proc/sys/vm/memory

the script 30-mkinitrd uses now the dracut part instead of the mkinitrd
code.
BUT: the result ist he same! Using LVM, it seems only by possible, to do
this
Installation, during "firstboot" (I will paste this script)

cd /srv/fai/config/basefiles
./mk-basefile -J CENTOS7_64
I've got the messages:
Extracting: filesystem-3.2-18.el7.x86_64.rpm
failed to extract filesystem-3.2-18.el7.x86_64.rpm: 16384 at
/usr/sbin/rinse line 1156.
rinse release 3.1 (run as root)

after a successful Installation of SLC7.1 using fai, with kerberos5 and
openafs
the graphical (GNOME) login does not work. I think, my pam isn't correct!
Has anybody a working PAM-configuration for kerberos5, openafs and SLC 7.1?
