If I'm not mistaken, during the installation logs are put in
/var/log/fai/. Maybe you could try to grep in that dir.

In my setup I'm running a 32bit nfsroot and I'm pxe booting with a 64bit
kernel (with 32bit support). I can then install 64bit and 32bit
machines. All from one nfsroot. For older hardware (thus not
supporting 64bit) I boot my 32bit nfsroot with a 32bit kernel.
You just have to make sure tha
configure first before I start the download.

I'm having some trouble adjusting setup_harddisks to do what I want.
I want to partition a hard disk with 56 tracks and 256 heads and that
each partition starts on a cylinder that is a multiple of 8.
I have found that I can the sfdisk variable in my class.var to get the
track and head in
