Hi. I'm new to the list so if this question was asked I'm sorry.
I have Fedora Core 2 with 2.6.5 kernel and sources installed.
I downloaded newest dvb driver and newest vdr. When I follow
instructions and go to dvr/driver and start 'make' command I get this
error:

Moin,
which 2.6.x kernel runns fine with 1.3.x VDR ?
I tried 1.3.6|9 + 2.6.6|7pre2
But there is a problem with the fine justage of cut marks.
vdr hangs and is quitted by the watchdog, if I try to move the
cut-marks.
What to do ?
By the way, I like
Look for a file named makedev.napi, this creates the /dev/dvb files.
When it's done, you might want to check the permissions on the /dev/dvb
files are right for your users.

Dear all,
First of all, thanks for providing the DVB drivers. I am trying to use a WinTV
Nexus-S card based on an SAA7146 chip. The card is pluged-in the computer but
not yet connected to a satelite dish.
I have a GNU/Linux 2.6.6 Debian SID system with hotplug and the most recent

Hi,
I notice that if /dev/dvb/adapterN/dvr0 is opened a second time while
it's in use, the second open gets all the data and the first gets
nothing, even if the second is subsequently closed.
This isn't a big problem, though it would be better if the second open
failed. (I expect it would not be

The card in question uses a Conexant CX23883 as the PCI interface.
There's a integrated Samsung tuner / frontend, part number TDTC9251DH01C

Any possibility of fixing this from outside of the CVS tree? ie a patch

Hello all,
have searched the archives and found some information on connecting a
machine to the internet via DVB-C and a satellite dish.
My local cable provider offers smth. they call cableDSL which seems to
be a variant of skyDSL which in turn is their brand name for Internet via
satellite.

In the dvb drivers package there is a file which is something like MAKEDEV.sh. run
that file but b4 that add a group in ur linux box by the name of video.i.e

Hi Andrew,
The default is 50ms, not 0. Also, it can't be 0: In that case it would spend
no time waiting for the frontend to lock, which definitely wouldn't work.
Oddly enough 50ms is the same as what the sp887x sets for the timeout so it
cannot be that.
Chalk that up to late night fuzziness :-)

Hi,
Is the minor numbering scheme in dvb-kernel (kernel 2.6) limited to 8
bits,
for backward compatibility ?
But since anyway there is a branchoff between 2.4 & 2.6, i believe it would
make no sense to default to the 8 bit minor numbering scheme as in 2.4 as
compared to
