As I have tried to use dvbd2 with 0.8.2 drivers and got to the
following results :
(as found at linuxtv.org)
- package dvbd2:
dvbd works fine
- package dvbrouter
dvbd does not work.
system logs contain : ioctl VIDIOCSFRONTEND: unknown error 515
I have never been able to make this dvbd work.

about two weeks now. After some inital problems getting things up and
running, everyting is working pretty well now.

Originaly GTK means Gimp ToolKit, you can install GTK without Gnome.

i currently have time to go into deeper with the CI/CAM "hacking" to get these to work.
I got a Hauppauge Win-DVB-S
with CAM Adapter.
i am thinking of also getting a Cable Version.
So, what i need is different CAM's (please no ALLCAM or Ideto CAM, since i have 2 here)

i still have problems viewing DVB-S using xawtv and the Xvideo extension.
the picture is inverted (mostly green and purble).
xawtv and Xvideo from a bttv card works fine.
my setup:
SuSE 7.3
kernel 2.4.10-SMP
dvb driver from 2001-11-12
vdr-0.98
XFree86 4.1.0 (16bit or 24bit depth)
NVdriver 1.
