Moin,
After working the first day with
Kernel 2.4.7-xfs, VDR .84, DVBs, I found some ugly reliability issues:
- sometimes changing a channel via VDR the picture changes, the sound
keeps the old stream of the channel, selected before. Then is reloading
the driver nessesary. Ugly bad, if this c

Hi everyone!
Today I turned around my dish some degrees to try Hotbird.
I used dtv_scan to create a channels.conf for VDR. So far everything looked
fine, but then I noticed that some transponders were missing. I checked out
www.lyngsat.com and found out, that these transponders (e.g. TP 110) are

If you refer to the dvb driver developed by convergence then the answer is

I just wanted to do some quick experiments with DVDs (I'm a total
novice in that area ;-) and am apparently facing some difficulties.
I am using libcss-0.1.0 and libdvdread-0.8.0 and tried to take a
look at a DVD I brought from America (region code 1).

I installed the Linux 2.2.19 Kernel on top of RedHat 6.2.
I installed the 0.8.2 Siemens drivers and the modules install just fine.
When I run dvbrouter I get the following in the syslog:

I have the same problem, but only on Thor (1W) - the other satellites I can

I think we should not be that ungrateful to them. They, reply very often to this list

And it was a great decission to make the kernel drivers a GPL project. After all
convergence is a commercial company and must be profitable. They could sell it as
well.
If you support it .. why not write your own agent which quotes for you ..
if you need a sample look at the webpart of the R5 Mailfile, there you find
the functions for quoting

Maybe I should mention that DTV correctly shows both current/next program.

Quite sure. The time is set via ntpdate and is correct, and the timezone is
also set correctly to Europe/Copenhagen. This is a RedHat 7.1 box.

Hi,
When switching channels the OSD shows the title of the program that is

First: Thanks for the fast answer.
Second: Sorry for bad (or no) quoting. I have to use Notes here :-(
Ok, and third: The signal from the dish that goes into the card is ok. If I
plug the cabel into the d-box the picture is ok. I also did make shure that
the dvb-s card don´t has to share an irq.

It would not matter, because the driver reloads the firmware
every time you reload the driver.

Hi all,
on Friday I got my Siemens DVB-s card. I compiled the latest driver from
linuxtv.org and vdr-0.83. Then I inserted the card, made "make insmod" and got
the picture of n-tv. I was impressed, how easy it was, so I compiled vdr and
ran it. It worked perfectly. So I recorded some broadcasts w
Hi!
I found a few bugs, problems:
1. choppy play back especially when playing over cut marks, sometimes the
playback is completely unusable (pixelized Video, noisy sound)
Same recordings played back with old API Drivers and VDR0.72 is ok.
2. fine adjusting of the markers does not work

When I say "OSD overlaps" I mean that 1 line is diplayed over the first

It happens for example when changing channels very fast (OSD with Channel

Anyone on this list uses the package called hauppaug v2.0 ?
I found it at a local ISP in Romania on their website. It uses
siemens-0.82 unmodified and dvbdrouter with a few very small
modifications.
Since I haven't been able to compile drivers 0.9 (pages of syntax
errors),
I use this package.

You probably know this feature from a usual satellite receiver.
