There are a number of commercial products for adding water resistance to
extension cord connections. Try searching for "extension cord connection
cover" on Amazon to get an idea. Some outdoor extensions come with what is
claimed to be integrated waterproof connectors.
Try to minimize or eliminate
So, for people with heated bird baths, do you use a generic outdoor
extension cord for that? I kind of worry about the junction between the
extension cord and the bird bath just lying on the ground, possibly in a
puddle of water. Do you elevate the junction or maybe wrap it in plastic to
protect it

Squirrels and chipmunks also sip a bit from the simple bowl I’ve had out for
weeks. 😊
