Lisa, Good question! The map of Lincoln done by Samuel Hoar in 1772 only shows the boundaries of the town, plus a depiction of the meeting house — no indication of any hills. In 1795, the state required every town to produce a map showing the major county roads. Samuel Hoar did this map as
