HATS has been pretty dormant, but the Hanscom issue has revitalized it.
Back in the dinosaur days, when I was a Select, we worked on a lot of traffic
issues that went beyond HATS region and to the larger region of MAGIC.
The Crosby’s Corner project was an outgrowth of first HATS and then the Rt.2
Structurally sound, large rolling office chair.
The faux leather finish has almost completely worn off and there is a stain on
the seat, so we covered the seat with a patio cushion.

In the past, it was effective forum for sharing ideas and concerns and

Kathy, thanks for your attempt to drive safely in the presence of bikes and

It may be useful in the midst of this discussion to state what the rules of the
road are in this situation.
The detail is laid out in MA law, specifically the Acts of 2022, Chapter 358,

Speed bumps must meet certain criteria listed in the Manual of Uniform Traffic

complicated. Lots of towns in our region have installed them effectively. For
example, Wayland has installed a series of them that calm traffic

We have the RTC, who advises the Selects, on this.
We can ask them.
Also, we would need to see the long range Capital Plan to understand when this
could be done.
Wholesale repaving and/or reconstructing does not come cheap and will, most
likely, require a new bond/tax.

I think Bob Mason has an excellent idea. And I would never pass a bike with

prefer bike specific areas for riders for their sake and mine. (I used t

Hello Lincoln Community,
I wanted to amend Jocelyn's LAFM announcement about my vending and yoga

It turns out I will be unable to make it to the market tomorrow and thus
the yoga class is also postponed to a future market date.

The bike rider / car driver quandry is just that.
I recall a town in Italy - Ferrara - where all townsfolk seem to be bicyclists.
Also Amsterdam.
I think about those places when I’m driving patiently at 10 mph behind a biker
on Baker Bridge Road which is treacherous for bicyclists.
Yes, I do go
1. 'If we are to include bikes as legitimate and equal ...'
That is settled, they already are.
2. '... , perhaps licensing is a good path to pursue'
That strikes me as *whataboutism*. How does that address the safety of
cyclists and pedestrians?

Bob,
I agree with the sentiment that we need to change the cultural relationship
between drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, but having dedicated
infrastructure for cyclists/pedestrians is also a very important components

Hi Gail,
BPAC and the RTC are discussing all of the above on a regular basis.
I would encourage you to come to one of our meetings to learn more. Speed
tables and other traffic calming measures such as the pedestrian island and
lighted signs at the Lincoln Road/117 crossing are examples.
Thanks
