I'm new to this list, and just beginning to look at Lilypond, and wondered...is
this list always so quiet? I've seen no postings at all since subscribing a few
days ago. -LKLarry KentTampa, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The site says if you want to preview pdf files, you need KPDF, but there's no
button (that I can see) for downloading that. What am I missing? -LK

The problem I have using the link is that my computer doesn't know what to
do with thatno application on my computers (Windows 8.1) to handle
files with that extension.

I think something like this will work, if you include this in your \header
copyright=\markup{
\fill-line {"Copyright 2014 Your Name" \typewriter "Version 2.1"}
}
Good luck.

Yes, there is a rule. All of the places where you have used underscore,
like "er__go" should be hyphens: "er-go" and the last words in both lines
("cernui" and "jubilatio") should both end with an underscore that goes
through the last note.

like: Say that Chapter
1 includes pages 1-1 through 1-40 and when an update occurred we could
replace pages 1-3 through 1-8 with pages 1-3a through 1-8d (and then the
next page would still be page 1-9 etc).

Jay,
What you are trying to do is improper notation. There should not be an
extender on the word "gee" in your example. (and the singer should be able
to sing this properly without the added line).

Just a guess, but it's probably the composer/editor's "helpful" instruction

Thanks for the more complete picture. I don't know how you do this in
Lilypond, but I think the proper notation is to write two eighth notes and
use a dotted tie (indicating that for one verse it's tied (i.e. a quarter
note) and for the other verse, it's two separate eighth notes.

My apologies..I'm sure I've seen this in the documentation or on this
list somewhere, but today when I actually need this, I can't find a way to
do this.
I want to have 3 systems per page, except only 2 systems on the first page.
Thanks in advance for a pointer.

I worked this out. I reversed "evenHeaderMarkup" and "oddHeaderMarkup" in
the two lines below, and in David's suggested solution to my original
question, I commented out the two lines following "first page number=4"
