Hi,
I have 2 questions about Lilypond usage:
1) Using the \book option and using the piece property to name each
\score, how can I centre the piece name instead of having small text
all the way over to the left?
2) There isn't enough room between consecutive pieces, how can I

Hi Don,Notice that the /Applications directory is limited to read/write for the owner "system" and the Group "admin". Which means that if your user is not part of the admin group you can't write to that directory.Personally, I put most non-Apple applications that I use frequently in an Application
Hi Jim,I just tried the "Notes only" template and got an error that I commonly get when I copy and paste from the Lilypond manual - it doesn't like the " ’ " character that is in the manual. I have to manually delete them and reinsert " ' ". Then it typesets fine. Below is the "Notes only" template
Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible with Lilypond to put the time

Hi Dax2,I use the PDF manual rather than the web browser. The archive is a great idea. If I may recommend, it'd be nice if you could browse by topic - as the archive grows it'll be unreasonable to just go through a long list (it's already very long).- JohnOh! Now I can see what example was used here
Hi Mats,Thanks for that, I'm almost there. A problem I'm having is that when I use:\mark \markup { \hspace #-3.0 \lower #0.0 { \number \teeny { \bracket \column { "6" "4" } } } }The pseudo-time signature is very far above the staff, and using \lower lowers the entire staff instead of lowering the m
Hi,
Thanks guys for your excellent responses!
One final question on the issue - is it possible to wrap the time

altering the font sizes so the parenthesis was large enough to cover

Hi,I just wanted to second Kieren's comment. I've compared outputs from different programs, like that thread linked to by others, and I've learned many things about engraving as a result (along with examining my own older hand-engraved editions). As I've been entering my own scores into Lilypond th
Hi Brett,
A more GUI-based solution is to output to PDF as normal, then just
"Save as..." from Preview.app as a PNG.

Brett,
I am also using Lilypond on Mac OS X. The Python script is how you
run Lilypond in the terminal as well. Open a terminal and type

Hi,
I have noticed a few things, possibly bugs, in a score I recently
typeset using 2.7.8 that didn't exist in a pdf I previous typeset
with Lilypond (not sure which version, sorry!). Here are some
examples - all examples are 2.7.8 vs. a previous version:

Hi Sven,Not sure how much you would like this option, but couldn't you just output to png (or whatever Lilypond supports) and then crop the image for your website?- JohnI create preview images for the music published on my website. Some of the pieces are made up of a \book containing up to10 \score
Hi Henrik,It does seem that maybe trying to accommodate everyone's preference is a lost cause. Customisability should definitely be present. However, ties/slurs should "function" first and look beautiful second! :) With 2.7.7 I've been forced to not avoid some problems because they are too serious (
