Hi Padraic,
I think the right way to do what you are trying is to write an
engraver that listens for slur events and alters the spacing of the
music. (I would write one if I could, but I'm not at that level yet.)
Until you have one I think you can solve the problem with your own

Well this is bringing me one step further. I think the problem is that some
libraries are not found. Especially guile.
I’ve now completely removed macports (I’ve installed it only because of
Lilypond) and reinstalled the Lilypond package of version 2.19 from Hans again.
It installs into /opt/li

You are running a brew-installed Lilypond, my dear ;-)
Try the following in a terminal:
$ /Applications/LilyPond.app/Contents/MacOS/LilyPond

One may have to give the Terminal app permissions, which I did in the past, but
it is not there now, so it may or may not be required.

Thanks for the information. I’ve reinstalled the 2.19 package and put
/opt/lilypond/bin in the PATH. I can execute lilypond from the Terminal still

When constructing scores where the timing is turned off, how do I get
accidentals to behave with respect to the manually inserted bar lines? I’m
just looking for the default accidental style (accidentals “last” until a bar
line), it’s just that all bar lines are inserted manually using \bar.

Hello,
I've just installed the latest version of Lilypond on my Windows pc and
when I drag and drop the test.ly file it has no PDF output. The log seems
to be unfinished, but there is no error message. (The previous version
worked perfectly.)
Do you have any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks in ad

Fr. Samuel.
1) The bar instructions are in printer's (curly) double quotes.
2) The timing = ##f may be incorrectly written/located. See:
