Take the following snippet. There are two staves; the second one
transposes in MIDI using \transposition a , whilst the first does
not. Process it in 2.8.4 and listen to the generated MIDI. It clearly
sounds like crap; this is because the first instrument is being
transposed like the second

I would hope that any revisions would not "break" our existing code and
exception lists. A method to get any names one wants using the exception
list already exists. A whole new standard should probably be implemented
using a global enumerator with a value for each "chord naming method"

I'm new to this list and am currently implementing LilyPond export for
my software "Music Prototyping Studio". First of all I'd like to thank
the makers of LilyPond for this great and exceptional product!
Most export algorithms of my program already work fine and the resulting

This is a little off topic, but thought I'd share it anyway, it's very handy
to have around:
Music Theory - Expression Marks
Tempo
Largo Very slow
Larghetto Not as slow as largo
Adagio Slow, leisurely

Moderato Moderate
Andante Moving with a moderate tempo

I might clarify a couple of these. Some of them have literal translations
which provide a good indication of their meaning.
Adagio Slow, leisurely
Literally, 'at ease'
Andante Moving with a moderate tempo
Literally, 'walking'
Con Brio with vigor and spirit
Literally, 'with liveliness'
One nice and easy change that I would like to see is instead of it generating
the word "add" in front of the added chord tones all the time, that it
simply generate the chord tone(s) it added vertically in paranthesis like
this "(11)". So if the given notes generated a name like "Em7add11add13"

1. Even with a very small input file, I find a delay of 4-5 seconds
after invoking lilypond before I see anything happening. Is this
normal, or am I doing something wrong? It's the same whether I type
"lilypond filename" in a console window, or invoke lilypond through an
editor interface.
