top of my music, kind of like a metronome marking but without the speed. Is

I hope you know how to run LilyPond from the Cygwin command window.
In that case, please run the command with the extra flag
lilypond --verbose ...
and send the corresponding output to the mailing list, then maybe
someone can provide more hints on what's wrong.

Does anyone know the best way of underlining fingering instructions for 2.6
under XP?
I used to do it with inline LaTeX code, like
c4^"$\underline{3}$"
but that doesn't work any more.
