Thanks again, it worked perfectly, but just to go deeper in this, and to
understand better about lilypond layout, what I can do if I want to move
only the chords a bit up or down; i.e. now the chords are not perfectly centered
but they are closer to the upper staff.

I get...
"unknown escaped string: '\property'"

convert-ly and it doesn't correct the problem.
What's the fix?

Hello list,
Maybe I want too much for a beginner. Not easy, all this stuff, although I
am an experienced programmer in other languages.
I want to add Lyrics to a DrummStaff or (even better) a RhythmicStaff. See
example below.
In order to have
- a single line with a rythm, to be associated with

Does the output from "convert-ly" show that it actually did something?

Just to rule out things, I take it you looked at the "convert - DVI to
Postscript.scpt" that comes with the folder actions (or a similar one)?
My guess is that you need to use the --output=FILE option of Lilypond.
This option is in 2.4.2. I haven't checked with 2.2.5 due to lack of
availability
Hi,
compiled 2.5.18 recently twice; first from CVS, then from source of the
6.4. release. With both I noticed no effect in output when trying \raise
in text markup, example as follows:
c''4. ^\markup {"" \halign #0.1 \raise #2.5 \bold "ad libitum"} b8 _(\>

The output looks similar als
I'm trying to draw a vertical line between two noteheads, positioned
opposite from the stem. It notates a cluster with the noteheads giving
the range.
(the make cluster function, as Antti wrote in

, is not precise enough)

I
have just begun to use Lilypond, and I must say that the output I've
gotten so far is truly beautiful. I cannot seem to import midi files
with midi2ly. Can someone please explain the proceedure to me. I have
tried many different combinations and continue to get error messages
such: as file does n
I'm having difficulty finding any documentation that explains how to
create chord nomenclature.
I've only figured out the basics: :7, :maj, etc., but I'm
struggling with "sus," "half diminished" and others. Isn't there a list
of naming conventions somewhere?
