Lilyponders,
It appears that in this file the part is not inheriting the time signature
and partial measure from the global variable. I've changed the time sig to
6/8 in the global but it still appears as common time in the output.

Hi David,
I just realised that if "\partial 8" is added to the start of the global
variable that the build fails (see attached). Any ideas?

Hi Lilyponders,
I have a score where all key changes, tempo changes etc are in a global
variable, IN CONCERT PITCH.
The first clarinet part has to change halfway through from Clarinet in Bb
to Clarinet in Eb. These notes are entered in WRITTEN not SOUNDING pitch.
Is there anyway to get the globa
Wow, as usual I'm totally delighted with the range and richness of
responses to my query. Many things to try and to investigate. Not all of
them will take me to my goal as easily as I'd like, but all sound worth
following up on. I've very grateful to you all. Thank you very much.
I was afraid
You can use Denemo for this. Choose the clefs the original has, insert the
notes just as if they were dots on lines and in the end change the clef to what
you want.

I play and write music for classic guitar, so I use "\clef "treble_8""
in my scores (classic guitar sounds an octave lower than the music
notation).
