Ok, that should be fixed somehow. Hmm.

I tried it, it does work.
1. I had to rewrite the datadir in convert-ly.py to:
datadir = 'c:/program files/lilypond/usr/share/lilypond/2.5.31'
2. create the python directory in usr/share/lilypond, with the content
from the source archive
3. run: python "c:\program files\lilypond\usr\share\conve

That's half-correct. The utility is present, but it is
non-functional.
It could work when python is installed separately, but we need a
recipe for that.

That did it! Thank you. I chose method 2 from the above, but will keep
this email saved for future reference.
But I made a typo, sorry. So correctly:
% :encoding=UTF-8:
(This method of setting buffer properties is documented in jEdit's help.

The normal answer would have been to ask you to run convert-ly on
your file. However, as far as I understand, this utility is missing
in the native distributions for the moment, so instead you have to
read the NEWS file:

You need a text editor that handles the UTF-8 encoding of characters,
and you must save your file in this encoding. Then you'll get your
characters.
I too am having the same problem. I am using jedit, which is wonderful,
but completely new to me. How do I force it to the UTF-8 encoding. I

Hello!
Downloaded the "new" native lilypond 2.5.29-2 and have been trying it
out but I'm still resorting to my "old" 2.4.2 in Cygwin for serious
editing. One problem I have run into in my try outs is with the fonts
for lyrics.
