I believe you have misunderstood something.
There really is no need to use any older version of lilypond.
If your TuxGuitar installation exports lilypond code meant for older
versions than the present (stable: 2.18.2, development: 2:19.29), you
can just use the convert-ly script.

Usually it should work to run convert-
