Hi Nick (cc'ing lilypond-user@ this time), Here's a solution for that excerpt. The specific solution for blanking out the staff is to use \stopStaff and \startStaff; between those two commands, you can use \override Staff.StaffSymbol #'transparent to ##t and likewise Staff.BarLine #'transparent =
